The Bear Cave in Kletno
(15°15'N; 17°01'E) is situated within the Massif of Śnieżnik Kłodzki, on the right slope of the Valley of Kleśnica, in a block of marbles within the mountain Stroma (1,166.80 m above sea level).
When you are looking for the Bear Cave on the map try to find Wrocław, and then go south to Kłodzko. Near Kłodzko there is Stronie Śląskie and below this small town there is a village – Kletno. This is where the Bear Cave is.
If you wish, you can get to the Bear Cave by car taking the road to Stronie Śląskie,
then to Kletno and before Bolesławów turn right, and then straight to the Bear Cave parking place. From the car park to the entrance hall of the Cave you can walk, drive by a special electric car (melex) or go by a carriage. One cannot park straight in front of the entrance hall, as the direct area around the Cave is under a strict environmental protection.
When you are driving from Bystrzyca Kłodzka
you can take a shortcut by turning right in Sienna village. Then we go to Kletno by a very narrow and winding road. One should be very careful though as this road can be very difficult for an inexperienced driver. By this road there is the Old Uranium Mine opened for tourist, which is worthwhile visiting it. |
